My Nursing Experience

I have been a Registered Nurse since 2007 and graduated at the top of my class. I hold a Master's Degree in Clinical Nurse Leadership. I worked in Critical Care, Neuroscience and Stroke Nursing, and Nursing Leadership and Management. With a career rooted in excellence, I obtained specialty nursing certifications in each of these areas. I also served as a clinical nursing instructor and as a patient model for healthcare students.

The Catalyst

Like so many, I poured everything I had into being a nurse. Then suddenly, in 2021, I became the "patient." I was diagnosed with two rare and chronic neurological illnesses, and now have a physical disability. I tried to push through and continue to work in my role as a Nurse Manager, but eventually, my health forced me to step away from the bedside.

Shifting from Bedside to Business

I was at a major crossroads. Becoming sick challenged everything I thought I knew of my own career identity. I was not sure what I could continue to do as a nurse. But rather than stepping back and letting my illness and disability control me, I chose to embrace what I loved most about nursing and move forward into a new mission. I took my experience, knowledge, and passion for service and created Nurse Potential, LLC in 2023.
